DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS PROJECT & DEVELOPMENT

The lack of a clear systematic structure for recognizing people’s contributions and appropriate award mechanisms from grassroots to higher levels is one of the important deficiencies that limit the development process in Africa. This is because there is less encouragement and appreciation of the individual or collective effort. We need an award system that reaches the foundation of community and exalts the village contributor without whose effort achievement at the national level will ever be meaningful. Therefore, through the Community Directed Development (CDD) option, achievements are celebrated at all levels in the local society. The aim is to pursue a system of recognition and award of contributions by individuals, groups and organizations who work towards development of human society.

First of all, in the process of building capability in the local area, community members are informed about the CDD strategy to recognize and award individuals and organizations for the contributions that they make towards development of the local society. CDD Awards is pursued right at the unset during the advocacy to form Community Development Association (CDA), and begins with the compilation of the potential members register which is used to compile the first almanac of “makers of development” in the target local socio-geographical area. In actual fact, the compilation of the potential members register constitute the first achievement of the local society in the process of establishing a culture for sustainable development.

    • CDD Philosophy

To harness the collective potential of society by bringing together all identifiable groups that make up that society in an innovative partnership for disease control and socio-economic development.

CDDF also creates opportunities for the African Dream in which initiative and innovation are upheld and achievement is celebrated to make success for the individual and society.
